Transformed Lives - Anything is Possible for the Lord

Boy Band member from Ireland will give testimony to how Jesus Christ changed his life

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

July, 2009

BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND (ANS) -- Hundreds of people from both Protestant and Catholic communities of Belfast, Northern Ireland, are expected to attend a special event to hear the member of a famous Boy Band give his testimony

Rev Markuu Koivistu

Shane Lynch is a member of Boyzone, a well-known Boy Band in the UK and Ireland. He will share his testimony from a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol abuse, to how he committed his life to Christ four years ago, at New Life City Church on Thursday night, July 3 at 7.30 p.m. Shane is originally from Dublin, Ireland.

In an e-mail to ANS, New Life's Pastor Jack McKee said: "The event will be held in our new building. Although this is still an old warehouse, it will be ideal for this event. The building is right on the peace line (the dividing wall) between our divided communities. Hundreds from both sides of this wall are expected to come together for this event."

McKee added: "We have asked for the security gate, that is always closed at nights across the road right at this building, to be kept open for the event so that people can come in from both sides. When this happens it will be covered by the police. This event will promote the need for personal faith in Christ, but will also show there is enough goodwill across both sides of the community for this event to be successful."

McKee also says his third book is being published by Ambassador Publications based in Northern Ireland and in North Carolina. The book is called 'Don't Just Sit There,' subtitle: 'The challenge to get up and do What Jesus Would Do.'

In this book, Pastor Jack presents several key Biblical characteristics that should be evident in all true Ambassadors for Christ.
The book jacket says: "Like others before him, who have stepped into the fray, Jack McKee has felt the heat of battle. But he has also experienced the joy of rescuing souls and saving lives and in this book he shows that every Christian can do likewise."

The book will be released in the first week of October, but Pastor McKee says you can really help him out as he needs to purchase 1,000 copies up front.

In the e-mail to ANS, he says: "I need people to purchase the book and to pay for it now. It will be delivered as soon as it comes out. The price in the shops will be £9.99 UK or $19.99 US. I can let them go for £8.00 and $16.00 plus send them post free.

"You can contact me for further information or make the equivalent donation via PayPal on our web site www.newlifecitychurch.co.uk.  Just let me know you have done this."

He adds: "Believe me, you will really enjoy and be challenged by this book and your purchase will be a huge help to the work of New Life in Belfast."

According to his official website, Shane Lynch released his own autobiography, The Chancer, published by Canaan Press, at Sandown Racecourse on May 15 and has been looking forward to the Boyzone reunion tour this spring and summer.
