Those who have walked for some time with the Lord understand that the unwavering, unfailing faithfulness of God creates within us the absolute assurance that He walks closely with us and that He is continually at work on our behalf.
We know that this is true from the Word of God; indeed, the bible tells us that His Name is ‘Faithful and True’

Revelation 19:11 explains:

(NKJV) Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
(AMP) After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (trustworthy, loyal, incorruptible, steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness – holiness, justice and uprightness

Faithfulness is an essential aspect of the character and nature of God. It cannot be likened to the faithfulness of man which can change as the whim takes him. It cannot be likened to the faithfulness of an object, like a car or a favourite item, because all that is man-made grows old and deteriorates eventually and will fail.

God’s faithfulness is constant. It is incorruptible and endures from everlasting to everlasting. He does not choose to be faithful, faithfulness is not a decision He makes. Faithful is what He is and who He is

For example:

Forgiveness and Cleansing are always ours – simply because God is Faithful

1 John 1:9 says:

(NKJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(AMP) If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises] and will forgive our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness – everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action.

Neither is His faithfulness dependent on the way we behave, it is unaffected by our character failings:

2 Timothy 2:13 tells us:

(NKJV) If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself
(AMP) If we are faithless (do not believe and are untrue to Him), He remains true [faithful to His Word and His righteous character], for he cannot deny Himself.

Our hearts can therefore safely rest in the fact that the God we love and serve is ever faithful and dependable.

We must not judge Him by what we have seen or known in our dealings with man for He stands apart from all of creation.

He is who He is

He is Faithful and True

Dictionary.com describes a "Sentinel" as one that keeps guard. The french and latin roots speak of vigilance
and combine the words "watching" and "feeling" in their description. I think of "Sentinels" as
being those the Lord positions in specific areas to Guard over Community, National and
Governmental issues needing Prayer.
