What is Truth?

The Hamas-Fatah `unity' government received overwhelming endorsement Saturday. When the 83-3 vote was declared the Palestinian Authority Cabinet rose in a standing ovation.
Each of the 25-member Cabinet took the oath of office in a video-linked ceremony. Celebrations were held simultaneously in Gaza City and Ramallah in the West Bank. (Israel travel plans meant the ministers were not able to meet for a gathering in one location).
Just like the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ishmael Haniyeh and his Hamas Party have shown no interest in meeting international demands.
While accepting the new unity government status Haniyeh and the Hamas leadership have taken great pains to affirm their right to resist Israel and ignore the Jewish state's right to exist.
Haniyeh said at the weekend, he expects the Palestinian state to be awarded lands won by Israel in the Six Day War. He seems to forget the Arabs attacked Israel and they lost.
In typical `double-talk' he said the Palestinians will affirm their right to resist the Israel `occupation', but they will expand a truce with Israel. (Figure that sentence for just a moment: If they feel like fighting they will kill Jews but they will have a truce so Israel loses the right to defend herself. They are crazy but smart!)
There is a grave concern in Israel that the USA and the coalition forces are losing the heart to fight terrorism in Iraq. General Armidror went so far a few weeks ago as to describe the fight against terrorism. He said there will not be a moment when the battle is won. Peace and restraint of the enemy is the new victory.
For instance, if you hold off the bombs, missiles and suicide bombing you are winning!
But the warning is clear. To give up the fight is to unleash the full capacity of an enemy who is manifesting John 10: 10 carefully and systematically. (Please read and memorize John 10:10)
$700,000,000 Disappeared!!!!!
The incoming Unity Government Finance Minister is Salam Fayyad. He immediately called on the international community to recognize the validity of the new enterprise and give financial assistance.
His plea came mere days after he made a startling confession.
He said millions of dollars transferred to the Palestinian Authority had `disappeared.' He was at a loss to explain the whereabouts of $700,000,000 (USD) granted to the Palestinian Authority since Hamas rose to power.
A report in the Daily Telegraph quoted the official saying, "Palestinian Authority spending is out of control, salaries are being paid to workers who never turn up and nobody can track where the money is going."
The newspaper went so far as to quote Fayad as saying, "Please write this: no one can give donors assurance (that their money is not going to finance Hamas terrorism). Why? Because the system is in a state of total disrepair."
Now the same man is saying: "We do face a very serious and crippling financial crisis. Without the help of the international community, it is not going to be possible for us to sustain our operations." (Hmmm I wonder what `operations' he means?)
The missing $700,000,000 would help, I would think! Where will the next wad of international aid money end up?
The Palestinian Media Watch reports the following excerpts from the platform of the new Palestinian government, as published on two Hamas Web sites:
"The national unity government will work ... to achieve the higher interests of the Palestinian people, through the following means:"
"The government confirms that the key to security and stability in the region is in the ending of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, recognition of the right to Palestinian self-determination, and the government will work with the international community to end the occupation, and to return the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."
"The government abides by the protection of the higher national interests of the Palestinian people, and the protection of its rights ... on the basis of that, respects international resolutions and agreements signed by the PLO."
"Holds fast to the rights of Palestinian refugees, and the right of return of Palestinian refugees to their land and belongings."
"The government confims that the resistance is a legitimate right for the Palestinian people ... halting resistance depends on ending the occupation and achieving freedom and (the right of) return and independence."
"Despite that, the government, through national consensus, will work to maintain the truce, expand it to become comprehensive, mutual and synchronized in exchange for Israel's commitment to put and end to its occupation measures."
Food for Thought!
There are real ambiguities in these words. They have been chosen very carefully. There is no attempt by this unity government to comply with any of the conditions set by the Quartet.
There can be no encouragement or support for any government that openly shows its inclination is to kill and endanger.
I am a Christian analyst. I believe the truth sets you free.
The world has spent so much time dancing with the Devil in recent times, most cannot tell the difference anymore.
This is where prayer, faith and biblical standards come in.
Without them one makes alliances with partners bent on hate rather than love.
We live in a world that went mad with permissive parenting so that a generation suffered for lack of discipline. Now the diplomats of the world declare `peace, peace when there is no peace!'
It was all reported in the Bible hundreds of years ago. If we don't read it and apply it, we are very likely to be trapped.
And by the way, I'm not preaching. I'm just telling the truth.
