GOD SPEAKS FROM AN IRISH BOG

The joy of faith in God is that He speaks. If we have `ears to hear' it is overwhelming how encouraging and uplifting the voice of God is.
You may have to seek Him in ways that go beyond religious rituals. You may just have to be observant and awake to events that take place around you.
For instance a medieval book of psalms has been discovered. Found in Irish mud the manuscript was open to Psalm 83.
Reports of the discovery describe a 20-page book found by a construction worker. He was digging in a bog. Investigation revealed the manuscript dated back to AD 800 to 1000.
The director of the National Museum of Ireland, Pat Wallace, described the event as "really a miracle find."
AP broke this story and it has swept around the world sparking great interest. For Christians it says a great deal more than just the discovery.
Wallace illuminated the miracle of the find. There's two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all, it's unlikely something this fragile could survive in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is incalculably more amazing."
Right now we at BFP News are writing stories describing fierce fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. 1,500 missiles have been fired into Israel in the past 13 days.
We have just recorded the worst day of bloodshed for Israel in their encounter with the enemy. So what does Psalm 83 say?
"O God, do not remain quiet;
Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.
For, behold, Thine enemies make an uproar;
And those who hate Thee have exalted themselves.
They make shrewd plans against Thy people,
And conspire together against Thy treasured ones.
They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,
That the name of Israel be remembered no more."
For they have conspired together with one mind;
Against Thee do they make a covenant:
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Assyria also has joined with them;
They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.
Deal with them as with Midian,
As with Sisera and Jabin, at the torrent of Kishon,
Who were destroyed at En-dor,
Who became as dung for the ground.
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God."
O my God, make them like the whirling dust;
Like chaff before the wind.
Like fire that burns the forest,
And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,
So pursue them with Thy tempest,
And terrify them with Thy storm.
Fill their faces with dishonor,
That they may seek Thy name, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever;
And let them be humiliated and perish,
That they may know that Thou alone,
whose name is the LORD,
Art the Most High over all the earth."
100 missiles landed on northern Israel on Wednesday when we visited Kiryat Shmona. I saw the "fire that burns the forest." It came as a product of hate and anger.
Psalm 83 makes me long for the fire of God which defends His holiness and righteousness, the fire of love.
I saw the evil flame that set "mountains on fire."
Psalm 83 says to all who will listen we have a day of the Lord which will repay evil for good and the Lord will defend His people
