StreetPraying those on our Frontlines, Our Police Officers

Special to Link-Zone

September 2011

There has never perhaps been a more important time to stand in the gap and pray for those serving on the frontline, in particular, our police officers.

Over the past few weeks ‘lawlessness’ has been evident just as it’s been predicted in God’s word with the recent riots in England a perfect example of unruly and rebellious behaviour.

We watched how the police struggled to maintain law and order, threatened by crowds completely out of control, causing absolute mayhem and unrest leaving citizens in fear.

Those of us living here in this lucky country are blessed by the work carried out by police officers, regularly heading out to work, yet literally putting their lives on the line to protect and uphold the laws of our land.

The struggle to maintain law and order has increased urging us to pray for their protection, for wisdom and for the support of their community when performing their duties.

There is currently a need for prayer for those of the Victorian Police Service with the Western suburbs in great need for God’s divine intervention, even the emergency departments of local hospitals have become what many would call a ‘war zone’ with gangs carrying weapons such as knives, guns and machetes, causing unrest to both patients and hospital employees.

We who believe in Jesus have the opportunity to also use weapons, but not the type just spoken of.

Our ‘weapons of warfare are not carnal’, according to God’s written word, but are ‘mighty in the pulling down of strongholds’ and are activated in prayer.

So please, when you pray, remember to add your local police to your prayer time, pray for their safety, for discernment and for God’s heavenly wisdom.

Not only will this be of benefit to them, but to you also.

May His Kingdom come and may His will be done!
