by Angela Walker
Christian Cinema.Com

It's time for an upgrade to the Jesus Film. How do you translate it for the 15 - 30-year-old generation? Anime! After being translated into over 1000 languages and being seen by over a billion people, the project team has its sights set on bring a fresh new look to the beloved classic.

You can help them!

Field testing on a developing concept video is happening right now. Go to YouTube External Linkwhere you can watch the
video and leave comments for the creators. There will also be a link to take a survey about your reactions to the clip.

They want to use the original dialog recordings from the Jesus Film, but translate the visual elements into the "Modern, visual language of this young, media sophisticated generation..."

You can hear the dialog in English, Hungarian or Cantonese, and there's even a podcast with Barry Cook, who co-directed Mulan for the Disney Company (with Tony Bancroft). He's one of the partners developing the animated version.

There's a Jesus Animation Project feedback page (External Link) where you can sign up to receive a DVD to show groups of people, ask them questions, and provide feedback via an online survey.

Christian Cinema.Com

ChristianCinema.com, Inc. is a US based motion picture production and distribution company founded in 1999. They have spent years developing relationships with independent filmmakers in order to bring you the best movies and documentaries our industry has to offer. Every title is screened before being added to their database to insure a standard of quality and that it represents a biblical worldview. Our desire is to get the word out about what is happening with Christians in the film industry today and want to encourage the making of more films from a Christian perspective. Some of these films will be obviously evangelistic while others more subtle in how the Gospel and attributes of Jesus are communicated.

Christian Cinema.com believe the Good News not only saves, but transforms. Some of the most powerful films communicate various themes of transformation: redemption, grace, love, hope, healing, and faith to name a few.

Christian Cinema.ComWhen you buy movies from this site you are not only buying a movie, you are helping the ongoing efforts of Christian filmmakers to continue making better films with a message that counts.
