The Greens are trying to legalise homosexual marriage through a private Senator’s Bill. The deadline for submissions to a Senate Inquiry into Senator Sarah Hanson-Young’s so-called ‘Marriage Equality’ bill is next Friday, 28 August 2009.
Her bill would radically alter the definition of marriage so that any two people, regardless of gender, could marry. Same-sex marriage will undermine marriage because it equates any loving relationship between any two consenting adults as "marriage".
The aims of the bill are to recognise ‘freedom of sexuality’ and to celebrate ‘diversity’, but these are not the values of marriage, which upholds commitment, fidelity, and the stable nurturing of children.
In 2004 both major parties agreed to insert the definition of marriage as the union of a man and a woman into the Marriage Act after dedicated Christians expressed their support for traditional marriage in record numbers.
It is important that Christians again respond in great numbers to this inquiry in order to neutralise this renewed threat upon marriage by the Greens. A strong Christian response will ensure that the ALP and Liberal party stay committed to marriage remaining the union of a man and a woman.

Do not be silent on this issue. Please alert your church, your family and friends to this important inquiry. It is vital that we act now to preserve marriage
