Kororoit by-election: Send a message for life
Australian Christian Lobby - Media Release
24th, June 2008
The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) today called on the voters in the Kororoit by-election to be held this Saturday June 28 to ‘Send a message for life’ to Victorian politicians.
ACL has asked candidates for their views on a range of issues, including life issues such as abortion, euthanasia and IVF for single women. Full details of all responses are on the ACL website at www.acl.org.au/vic or by clicking here
Victorian Director Rob Ward urged Kororoit voters to carefully examine the positions of each candidate on key issues when deciding who to vote for.
“It is clear that some candidates have views that value life above political correctness and voters are urged to consider this when they cast their vote,” Mr Ward said.
“Kororoit voters have a unique opportunity to get the message to the politicians that life matters. This year we are seeing a raft of social engineering legislation before the Victorian Parliament and this by-election provides a good chance for voters to express their concern on these issues.”
ACL does not support any political party but encourages voters to support candidates and politicians with Christian values, regardless of what party they represent. Our vision is to see Christian ethics and principles accepted and influencing the way we are governed and relate to one another as a community.
