Installation Overview

dish

Brief Overview:

An installation basically involves mounting the Satellite Dish & LNB on your roof and setting up the cabling or wiring so that these are connected with the Satellite Receiver inside the house.

Our installers program the receivers to pick up the channels and make sure that you can receive all the programs before they leave your house.

Installations are usually straightforward in suburban areas, although in the rare case when a property is overshadowed with dense trees, branches may need to be removed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q.1.

I already have an Austar/Foxten dish on my roof - can I use this?

A.1

You can use the dish you already have. We usually install a larger ( 85cm) dish which is better suited to the Optus B3 signal however the Austar dish will be fine. The only problems we have had reported are a pixelated reception during heavy rain.

You also need to check on the condition of your dish ... the dish is essentially a reflector and the LNB receives the signal so a rusty or damaged dish is not recommended.

Q.2.

Is the Australian Christian Channel one of the channels included in the package?

A.2

No - the Australian Christian Channel broadcast from a different satellite.

You can find out more via their website at www.acctv.com.au

Q.3.

Are there any ongoing fees or subscription costs with these Christian channels?

A.3

No - the Channels are all "Free to Air" - no added costs or subscriptions at all. Essentially you are only buying the equipment needed to receive the satellite signal ... you do not pay for the programming.

The only forseeable extra cost occurs when a new Christian channel is added to the available Optus B3 programming - you can actually tune your receiver to receive this yourselv, however if you are unable to do this a call out fee would be charged for one of our installers to do this for you.
