Jack Sonneman to Canberra to
Combat Pornography
News
Update from National Alliance of Christian
Leaders
July
11, 2007
Jack
Sonneman will be in Canberra from the 18
th July. He plans to be there for 3 Sundays
to speak in church services, providing documentation
linking pornography with sexual violence
and distributing related material as widely
as possible.
Jack
is also encouraging folk to contact the
Prime Minister to thank him for his courageous
stand and ask him to place the same simple
restrictions on X rated material in the
ACT. These restrictions already exist in
other states.
A group of young adults will be helping
him in Canberra.
This
is an historic time!
Jack
is also hoping to conduct one or more public
meetings and hopefully some debates. He
has debated Robbie Swan and Fiona Patten
at the ANU ... in the Albert Hall ... on
Capital 10 television ... the Today Show
... the Midday Show ... Radio National and
other venues.
After
Jacke debated Playboy's editor on Kerrie
Ann Kennerly's show the Editor was sacked.
The
Penthouse editor, who was scheduled to debate
Jack on A Current Affair, backed out that
night.
Our
national boycott campaigns bankrupted Australian
Playboy - it no longer exists.
On
July 2nd, The Canberra Times quoted Phillip
Ruddock as saying the ban on X Rated material
will now include the entire Northern Territory,
not just the Aboriginal communities as he'd
first recommended. He also said that he
is looking at some sort of restrictions
in the ACT as well!!
Jack
and his wife Margaret, have been pushing
for this for years.
Jack,
as head of the Australian Federation for
the Family, has backing for his Canberra
visit from the National Alliance of Christian
Leaders (which networks with over 400 Christian
groups), YWAM (the largest Christian missionary
organisation in the world), and the Australian
Christian Lobby (ACL).
The
ACL contacted Jack to thank him for the
info on the http://www.ausfamily.org/
website and to welcome his visit to Canberra.
Please
email Jack or phone him, to help protect
the women and children of Australia from
the devastating effects of pornography.
The
OECD, last March, placed Australia at the
top of the list once again for rape and
violent assault. Pornography is a determining
factor.
Jack
Sonnemann recently received an Outstanding
Achievement Award at the Sexual Integrity
Forum in Canberra.
In Sydney shortly after he was made an Official
Ambassador for Peace by an NGO with the
United Nations for his work in Australia
to protect women and children from sexual
exploitation
Please
visit the website http://www.ausfamily.org/
to see the one page proposal for the
Prime Minister. Also you can see Jack's
four page letter to the Attorney General
with 20 or so quotes from Crown Prosecutors,
Supreme Court Justices, police reports,
scientific journals etc (Jack has hundreds)
documenting the link between pornography
and sexual violence.
The
Sonnemanns have been invited to present
parliamentary submissions before every state
parliament in Australia on such topics as
pornography and paedophilia, prostitution,
sex crimes, homosexuality etc. These can
be accessed from their website http://www.ausfamily.org/
by using the password 'decency'.
