The issue above is very related to issues of morality, the Pope, condoms and HIV/AIDS
Condoms are seen as the ‘saviour’ of the human race from HIV/AIDS and other STDs.
Since Pope Benedict told reporters recently that the solution to the AIDS problem is "a spiritual and human renewal bringing a new way of behaving towards one another," the world's media, international AIDS groups, feminist groups and pro-homosexual organisations have gone ballistic.
At the start of the Pope’s recent trip to Africa, he said, "If the soul is lacking, if Africans do not help one another, the scourge cannot be resolved by distributing condoms; quite the contrary, we risk worsening the problem."
Indeed, telling people promiscuous sex is safe if you wear a condom is a lie. It will lead to greater experimentation by young people and greater irresponsibility by adults who should know better.
Both increase the risk of spreading not just HIV/AIDS but also many other sexually transmitted diseases.
Link here to a very interesting challenge to the outrage of those who think condoms are the answer.
It is from an African AIDS Activist in Uganda where, while condoms have played a part, the main theme of their successful attack on AIDS has been ‘Abstinence outside marriage and sexual purity within marriage’.
Prominent Ugandan AIDS Activist Thanks Pope for Opposition to Condoms
He says, "When you look at many of these so called AIDS activists, they are simply in it for the money"
After twenty years as an AIDS prevention activist in Uganda, Martin Ssempa says he has concluded that the real culprit in the spread of the disease "is sexual promiscuity driven by immorality of the heart."
They are also in it for the freedom - the freedom to do, and be, what they want regardless of the consequences.
Unfortunately, both Western and African government are not prepared to tell the truth because that would be unpopular. Nor are the media who continue to promote homosexuality and sexual promiscuity
