Pray for Jack Sonnemann fighting the X- rated Industry
in Pornberra

"The Commonwealth Government has no plans to legislate on X-rated material outside the scope of the emergency response." - Department of the the Prime Minister and Cabinet, dated 6th August 2007 in letter addressed to NACL.

Media Release: National Alliance of Christian Leaders
August 2007

Jack Sonnemann spent the last few weeks in the ACT pushing for an outright ban on X Rated videos.

Sonnemann, director of the Australian Federation for the Family was in the National Press Club for the Howard/Rudd webcast sponsored by the Australian Christian Lobby and spoke in several of the most prominent churches throughout the ACT.

A Marriage Coalition mini summit was held in Parliament House where they decided to include the harmful impact of pornography on marriage as one of four recommendations to parliament in an official launch of the Marriage Manifesto on the 18th of September this year.

His powerpoint address in the Legislative Assembly was attended by over 100 people including political and Christian leaders, was featured on Win TV news for 2 nights, promoted with a photo and story in the Canberra Times as well as on the very popular ABC Mike Welsh drivetime radio program.

This meeting was preceded by banners at the entrances to the ACT stating "Welcome to PORNberra".

The Liberal Party members in the ACT Legislative Assembly have invited Mr Sonnemann to return on Sept 17 and adopt his policies on X Rated videos/DVDs as party policy!

The next day, Thursday the 16th, was spent in Federal Parliament House meeting with politicians culminating in a meeting with the Prime Minister's office.

John Howard's Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews immediately focused on the peer-reviewed scientific studies citing the empirical evidence proving pornography causes rape, the principle advisor to opposition leader Rudd was presented with copies of this new research and Family First Senator Steve Fielding wants a "Honk Horn for No Porn" T-shirt!

The Prime Minister's principle adviser on social policy personally received the peer-reviewed studies published in recent scientific journals proving the link between pornography and sex crimes.

Please continue to congratulate the PM for recognising the harm caused by pornography by protecting Aboriginal women and children from X rated material.

Ask him when the rest of Australia can expect to be protected by placing the same restrictions on X Rated porn in ALL of the Territories!

Please visit the website http://www.ausfamily.org/ to see the one page proposal for the Prime Minister.

Also you can see Jack's four page letter to the Attorney General with 20 or so quotes from Crown Prosecutors, Supreme Court Justices, police reports, scientific journals etc (Jack has hundreds) documenting the link between pornography and sexual violence.

The Sonnemanns have been invited to present parliamentary submissions before every state parliament in Australia on such topics as pornography and paedophilia, prostitution, sex crimes, homosexuality etc. These can be accessed from their website http://www.ausfamily.org/ by using the password 'decency'.
