Abortion
Debate Alive & Kicking
in Victoria
ACL
has supported Federal
Government attempts to
reduce the number of abortions
by providing counseling
services designed to better
inform women about their
pregnancy options. “That
some members of the Victorian
Parliament are seeking
to introduce abortion
on demand flies in the
face of these worthy efforts.

Prayer Network (PPN)
Newsletter
RE:
Public Service and Advisers
to Government
Pray that the leaders
and workers who work
with and advise government
would do so with Godly
leading. That God would
root out corruption,
personal agendas and
political expediency,
and the truth would
always be exposed. That
God would place men
and women of integrity
in key positions with
a heart to serve, and
wisdom akin to Daniel.
RE: The Next Generation
PPN
has been very encouraged
by the enthusiasm of
young school children
with a desire to pray
for government. Pray
that God would raise
up the next generation
of pray-ers and leaders
for this land. Contact
the PPN office regarding
the highly successful
schools programme.

Lockie
Leonard, Human Torpedo
" .. We continue
to have concerns about
the book ‘Lockie
Leonard, Human Torpedo’
and its inclusion in
the Year 8 reading list
for Queensland students.
The book contains some
sexually confronting
material which we feel
is inappropriate for
13 and 14 year-olds
to read. We have written
to both the Education
Minister Rod Welford
and the Shadow Education
Minister Stuart Copeland
about the book. To date
we have received a less
than satisfactory response
from the Minister’s
office, while the Shadow
Minister is yet to respond.
Can we please encourage
you to email both of
these men and ask what
they intend to do. Mr
Welford’s email address
is: EducationAndArts@ministerial.qld.gov.au
/ Mr Copeland’s email
address is: cunningham@parliament.qld.gov.au

USA:
Hindu Prayer to Open
Senate on July 12
Media
Release: For what is
believed to be the first
time in its history,
the U.S. Senate will
be opened with a Hindu
prayer. The Senate Chaplain's
Office has confirmed
that Rajan Zed, a Hindu
chaplain from Nevada
will open the Senate
with a Hindu prayer
on July 12.
For
more than 200 years,
the Senate has opened
each workday with a
prayer usually delivered
by the Senate Chaplain,
currently Rev. Barry
Black, a Seventh Day
Adventist. It is common,
however, for senators
to recommend religious
leaders from their home
states to serve as guest
chaplains. When asked,
the Chaplain's office
said that "it cannot
say no."
